Full job description

Summary of the Main Purpose of the Job:

Drivers are a vital part of our organisation. Each driver is responsible for working with fellow Team Members and Management in a joint effort to ensure that our customers are the number one priority. This is achieved by making each interaction a positive one and building a memorable relationship with each customer at every event. Drivers perform their daily responsibilities and contribute to the Company’s overall goal of operating efficiently, effectively, and profitably.

In addition, there is the opportunity to earn a performance-based bonus of up to £1,000 per year.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

Valid HGV Class 1 or Class 2 licence.
Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
A clean driving record, no more than 6 points, with a strong understanding of road safety.
Be able to demonstrate a good understanding of EU Driving Hours & HGV Working Time Directive rules.
Previous experience in a similar role preferred but not essential as training can be provided.
Good communication skills and the ability to work independently.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Safely operate HGV vehicles in compliance with all driving laws and regulations.
Complete scheduled deliveries and collections on time.
Carry out vehicle checks, ensuring roadworthiness and reporting any defects.
Load and unload goods as required, ensuring the correct and safe handling of cargo.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel usage.
Provide excellent customer service during deliveries and interactions with clients.
Always adhere to health and safety procedures.

General Conduct:

Ensure, as far as is reasonably practicable, your own health, safety, and welfare and that of others who may be affected by your acts.
Carry out any other duty which your manager may reasonably request.
