Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanic/Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a variety of equipment and machinery to ensure optimal operational efficiency. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience in equipment maintenance and repair. The position is paid and suitable for those eager to develop their technical skills within a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment to minimise downtime.
Diagnose faults accurately using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools.
Repair or replace faulty components using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialised tools.
Assemble new equipment or parts following technical drawings and specifications.
Perform welding tasks as required to repair or modify equipment components.
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts utilised.
Assist with the installation of new machinery and ensure it complies with safety standards.
Respond promptly to emergency repairs to minimise operational disruptions.
Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations, prioritising safe working practices.
Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with team members and clients regarding repairs or maintenance issues.

Qualifications

Proven experience in mechanical maintenance, equipment repair, or a similar role.
Strong understanding of schematics, technical drawings, and mechanical principles.
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques.
Knowledge of maintenance procedures for various types of machinery and industrial equipment.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently as part of daily tasks.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues accurately.
Good organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and reporting.
Customer service orientation with clear communication skills.
Relevant certifications or qualifications in mechanical engineering or related fields are desirable but not essential.
