Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Decorator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for enhancing the aesthetic appeal of various spaces through skilled decoration techniques. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, contributing to creating visually appealing environments for clients. The position is suitable for individuals with a passion for design, colour coordination, and craftsmanship, who can work both independently and collaboratively.

Duties

Applying paint, wallpaper, and decorative finishes to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces in residential, commercial, or industrial settings
Preparing surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and priming prior to decoration work
Selecting appropriate colours, textures, and materials in consultation with clients or project managers
Ensuring all decorating tasks are completed within specified timeframes and quality standards
Maintaining a clean and safe work environment by organising tools and disposing of waste responsibly
Communicating effectively with clients and team members to understand project requirements and provide updates on progress
Assisting with minor construction painting tasks as required
Operating relevant equipment such as brushes, rollers, sprayers, and ladders safely

Skills

Proficiency in driving is desirable for transporting materials and equipment between sites
Experience in construction painting and decorating techniques is essential
Fluency in English with excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and colleagues
Strong organisational skills to manage multiple projects efficiently
Attention to detail to ensure high-quality finishes that meet client expectations
Ability to interpret design plans and colour schemes accurately
Good physical fitness to perform manual tasks involving lifting, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods
