Purpose of the post:
Be able to take a leading role at the Club Doncaster Elite Performance Centre to oversee, maintain and communicate with the first-team staff on a day-to-day basis.
Support the grounds team on a matchday which could includes weekend and evening work.
Take pride in all work completed.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the grounds maintenance works at Club Doncaster’s Elite Performance Centre.
- Maintain and manage day-to-day tasks such: mowing, marking, fertilising and other necessary maintenance.
- Assist in the planning and delivery for the maintenance of all pitches, landscaping, cleanliness and general appearance of all of Club Doncaster’s sites.
- Responsible for the general maintenance of plant and equipment used, ensuring statutory standards are met and all equipment is correctly maintained and serviced.
- Maintaining outdoor features, ensuring excellent outdoor presentation.
- Perform additional duties as directed by the Head Groundsperson.
- Responsible for the supervision of staff allocated permanently and temporarily to work at the site with your remit.
- Stand-in for the Head Groundsperson during periods of absence.
- Train, develop and motivte staff within your team, working closely with the department lead.
- Attend matches and events at the Club Doncaster Sports Village, when required.
- Ensure any suppliers on site are suitably supervised.
- Ensure complaiance with all health and safety laws and legislations.
- Prioritise safety and act with wellbeing for internal and external stakeholders always considered.
- Any other tasks required by the Head Groundsperson.

Person specification:
Essential:
- NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Sports Turf, Horticulture, Grounds Management, or a higher qualification.
- Full UK drivers licence.
- Proven experience in the maintenance and preparation of natural turf pitches, including mowing, devoting, marking out, fertiliser applications and aeration practices.
- Demonstrable experience in supervising staff and managing day-to-day grounds operations.
- Experience carrying out daily machinery inspections, maintenance checks and record-keeping.
- Experience operating and managing irrigation systems.
- Strong communication, organisation and people management skills.
- Successful completion of a basic Enhanced DBS Check upon offer of employment.
Desired:
- Experience working within elite football or professional sport.
- PA1, PA2 and PA6 spraying qualifications.
- Understanding of FA, Premier League and EFL Pitch Performance Standards, matchday requirements and operational procedures.
