About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and proactive Assistant Construction Manager to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced construction professional looking to develop their management skills within a fast-paced and varied environment.

The role is split between office-based and site-based activities, supporting the management team in the day-to-day operations of our Building Department. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

Support the management team with the daily operations of the Building Department.
Assist with project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
Procure materials, plant, and subcontractor services as required.
Carry out regular site inspections to ensure quality standards and specifications are being maintained.
Monitor site progress and provide updates to the management team.
Deliver and record toolbox talks to site operatives.
Assist engineers and tradespeople with technical and operational requirements.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
Liaise with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and site teams.
Assist in resolving site issues and maintaining project programmes.
Support the preparation of reports, quotations, and project documentation.

Essential Requirements

Previous experience within the construction industry.
Good understanding of construction processes, materials, and health & safety requirements.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Competent in Microsoft Office applications.
Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable Requirements

Experience in a supervisory, site management, or project coordination role.
Knowledge of procurement and scheduling processes.
Experience delivering toolbox talks and conducting site inspections.
