Company Overview

Calstan Mechanical Ltd is continuing to grow and strengthen its Pre-Construction Department and is seeking a motivated Mechanical Junior Estimator to support the team in delivering high-quality, fast-paced tender submissions. The successful candidate will assist in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a wide range of mechanical building services projects by reviewing project drawings, specifications, tender documentation and other technical information. The role includes quantifying materials, labour and plant requirements, obtaining supplier and subcontractor quotations, attending site visits where necessary to assess project conditions, and supporting the production of detailed pricing submissions. Working closely with the estimating and project delivery teams, the Mechanical Junior Estimator will help ensure tenders are commercially competitive, technically compliant and delivered within often demanding timescales. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their technical knowledge, commercial awareness and estimating skills within a growing and dynamic mechanical contractor.

Your Role:

· Reviewing project plans, analysing plan drawings, schematics, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates.

· Measurement and calculating costs, determining the quantity and cost of materials, equipment, and labour required for the project.

· Preparing and submitting detailed estimates and bids for projects.

· Preparation and submission of PQQ and ITT documentation.

· Maintaining detailed records of all estimation documentation and updating them to reflect current conditions.

· Negotiating with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure the best prices on materials and equipment.

· Staying updated with the latest techniques, materials, and costs in the industry to ensure the most accurate estimates.

Your Skills:

· Proven experience as an estimator or in a similar role (preferred)

· A strong understanding of mechanical systems and engineering principles

· Excellent mathematical and analytical skills

· Relevant higher-level qualification or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or related field (preferred)

· Attention to detail and organisational skills

· Ability to work to tight deadlines and deliver on time

· Experience or qualification in the use of Bluebeam and CAD would be preferred

Pay: £30,000.00-£34,000.00 per year
