Full job description

Contract ending June 2028

20 hours per week over 4 days

£12.71 per hour increasing to £13.50 per hour after probation

Office based in Shrewsbury

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated Administration/HR Officer to support our team in ensuring the smooth running of administrative and HR functions. This role is ideal for a highly organised professional with experience in HR and administration, particularly within the third sector.

Key Responsibilities:

Responding to enquiries from parents and professionals in a timely and professional manner.
Supporting staff with workshop administration, including enrolment, setting up links, managing registers, and handling associated tasks.
Updating the website with new information, documents, and resources.
Creating online access codes for recorded webinars and sharing them with parents upon request.
Assisting in project reporting by collating figures, feedback, and impact assessments.
Handling DBS checks, onboarding, and induction paperwork for new staff in collaboration with the Directors.
Developing, reviewing, and maintaining policies, procedures, and staff frameworks with the Directors.
Acting as the first point of contact for HR-related matters.
Coordinating with Payroll to confirm staff monthly hours.
Engaging in personal training and professional development.
Attending staff meetings and supervisions.
Completing any other relevant administrative tasks related to the project as required.

Job Specification: Essential Skills & Experience:

Proven experience in HR and administration.
Excellent administrative and computer skills.
Experience in website management
Strong knowledge of the third sector, particularly regarding reporting and grants.
Experience in policy development and HR procedures.
Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Experience with DBS checks, onboarding, and induction processes.
Knowledge of payroll processes and liaising with payroll teams.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

Familiarity with grant funding and impact reporting.
Experience in website updates and content management.
Previous work in education, charities, or community-based projects.
