Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter / Cleaner to join our hospitality team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining experience within the food service industry, including roles related to food preparation, restaurant operations, and guest services. Prior experience in hospitality, hotel, or culinary settings is advantageous but not essential. The role is fully paid and suitable for those committed to working in a fast-paced environment with a focus on food safety and cleanliness.

Duties

Washing and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, and pans to maintain hygiene standards
Assisting with basic food preparation tasks as required
Ensuring the cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, floors, and equipment
Organising storage areas and disposing of waste responsibly
Supporting the kitchen team with delivery of ingredients and supplies
Maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout all duties
Assisting with meal preparation when needed, including basic cooking tasks
Ensuring all work areas are kept tidy and organised at all times
Adhering to health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment
Providing excellent guest services by supporting the overall cleanliness of the establishment

Qualifications

Previous experience in hospitality, restaurant, hotel, or culinary environments is desirable but not essential
Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Good communication skills and phone etiquette for interacting with team members and guests
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
Experience in food preparation or as a delivery driver is advantageous but not mandatory
A proactive attitude with strong organisational skills
Ability to work flexible hours including weekends if required
