Stone Restorer

Location: Leigh, Greater Manchester (working across the North West and beyond)
Salary: £26,000 - £45,000 dependent on experience
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Join the Structures Group Team

At Structures Group, we specialise in the restoration, conservation and repair of historic and listed buildings, helping preserve some of the UK's most significant heritage assets. Due to continued growth, we're looking for an experienced Stone Restorer to join our expanding team.

The Role

You'll be carrying out a variety of stone conservation and repair works on prestigious projects, including churches, civic buildings, listed properties and historic landmarks.

Typical duties include:

Stone repairs using specialist repair mortars.
Stone indents and piecing-in.
Masonry repairs and restoration.
Repointing using lime mortars.
Cleaning and preparation of masonry surfaces.
Assisting with façade restoration works.
Working safely at height from scaffolding and access equipment.
Maintaining the highest standards of workmanship, quality and health & safety.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

Previous experience carrying out stone repairs or heritage masonry works.
Good understanding of traditional building materials and conservation techniques.
CSCS Card.
Full UK Driving Licence.
Strong attention to detail and pride in producing quality work.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable:

Experience with lime mortars.
Heritage restoration or conservation experience.
IPAF, PASMA or Working at Height qualifications.
NVQ in Stonemasonry or a related trade.
