Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Estates to oversee the management and maintenance of our estate facilities within an educational setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and compliance across all estate assets. This role requires strong leadership, project management skills, and technical expertise in mechanical and electrical systems. The Head of Estates will play a pivotal role in planning, supervising, and executing maintenance programmes to support the organisation’s strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the Estates team to ensure effective operation and maintenance of all estate facilities.
Develop and implement strategic plans for estate development, refurbishment, and optimisation projects.
Oversee the installation, inspection, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
Manage contractors and external service providers to ensure quality standards are met within budget and deadlines.
Utilise project management methodologies to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including risk assessments and safety protocols.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, asset registers, and schematics.
Analyse system performance data to identify areas for improvement or upgrade.
Supervise technical staff, providing leadership, training, and performance evaluations.

Requirements

Proven management experience within a facilities or estates environment.
Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
Demonstrable supervisory experience with leadership qualities that motivate teams.
Mechanical knowledge related to building services maintenance and repair.
Electrical experience with an understanding of electrical systems, wiring diagrams, and safety standards.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in planning and documentation.
Candidates should possess a proactive approach to problem-solving combined with excellent communication skills to lead diverse teams effectively. Pay: £45,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
