Overview
We are seeking a motivated Apprentice Plumber/Gas Fitter to join our dynamic team. This entry-level position offers valuable hands-on experience in plumbing and gas fitting, providing a solid foundation for a career in the trade. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of experienced professionals, gaining practical skills and knowledge essential for future advancement. This paid apprenticeship is ideal for individuals eager to develop their technical abilities within a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

Assisting with the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing and gas systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings
Using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to carry out tasks efficiently and safely
Supporting senior tradespeople in welding, assembly, and mechanical tasks as required
Performing basic carpentry work related to plumbing installations and repairs
Conducting measurements and calculations using basic maths to ensure accurate fitting and alignment
Handling heavy lifting safely during the transportation and positioning of materials and equipment
Maintaining a clean and organised work site to adhere to health and safety standards
Assisting with the inspection of plumbing systems to identify faults or potential issues
Participating in training sessions to develop specialised skills such as gas fitting procedures

Skills

Basic knowledge of plumbing principles and systems
Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and welding techniques
Mechanical aptitude with an understanding of how various components fit together
Good organisational skills with attention to detail
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively
Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations
Experience or familiarity with carpentry is advantageous
Valid driving licence for commercial driving duties is desirable but not essential at entry level
Strong willingness to learn new skills and develop professionally within the trade
