*Opening Summer 2026 – Join a Brand New Team*

*30-hour weekly contract, covering 5 days of 6-hour shifts, Monday-Sunday on a rota basis, no set days*.

We’re launching a brand new luxury retirement village in St Albans and are building an exceptional team from the ground up. This is a rare opportunity to be part of an opening team, shaping the culture, service standards and homeowner experience from day one.

The Oakleigh, located just outside the historic city of St Albans, is set within thirteen acres of natural woodland and wildlife.

The Role

We’re looking for a warm, personable and organised Front of House & Hospitality Assistant to deliver an exceptional all-round experience for our homeowners and guests.

This is a varied role combining reception duties, food & beverage service, and driving responsibilities, perfect for someone who thrives in a high-end hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

Front of House & Homeowner Experience

Deliver a warm, professional welcome to homeowners, families and visitors
Act as a key point of contact for enquiries, bookings and daily requests
Build strong relationships with homeowners, anticipating their needs
Support the planning and delivery of community events

Food & Beverage Service

Provide high-quality service in the restaurant, lounge and events spaces
Prepare and serve drinks, including bar service where required
Maintain clean, well-presented service areas
Help create a relaxed, high-end dining experience

About You

Experience in a luxury or high-quality hospitality/customer service environment
Friendly, engaging and attentive with a natural service mindset
Well organised and able to manage a varied workload
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Basic IT skills (Outlook, booking systems, etc.)
Positive, proactive and a strong team player

Desirable:

Full UK driving licence, to support with driving the community vehicle for homeowner outings and appointments if required.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £13.30 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

St Albans AL2 2DS: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Application question(s):

This role involves driving a small people carrier (6-7 seater), and our insurance policy requires drives to be aged 25 or over. Can you confirm that you meet this requirement?
Can you commit to part-time, 30-hours a week, covering 5 days a week?
Our shift patterns are 08:00 to 20:00 Monday to Sunday. Are you able to commit to part-time, 30-hours a week, covering 5 days a week on a Rota basis?
Are you currently on a skilled worker visa?

Experience:

Waitressing/Bar: 1 year (preferred)
