This role exists to help build relational infrastructure around young people through school
and community-based settings, projects and partnerships. By combining relational support,
coordinated pathway development and community engagement, the postholder creates
personalised responses that enable young people to belong, access support, and thrive.
Relational Support and Wellbeing
The postholder will:
- Maintain a visible presence within a school, and wider community settings.
- Develop trusted relationships with pupils, staff and families, recognising that effective support is built upon trust, and sustained presence.
- Deliver mentoring, coaching, group work, assemblies, workshops and wellbeing activities as required in response to identified needs.
- Create opportunities for belonging, participation and positive relationships.
- Deliver targeted support in response to identified needs.
- Deliver therapeutic, wellbeing or relational interventions appropriate to their qualifications, training and experience.
- Help identify emerging needs and contribute to the development of appropriate responses and support plans.
- Shape bespoke opportunities, programmes and pathways around the needs, strengths and aspirations of young people.
- Maintain appropriate records relating to support, referrals and outcomes in accordance with organisational policies and professional standards.
Wellbeing Centre Development
The postholder will:
- Support the development and implementation of Kingdom Overflow's Wellbeing centre model.
- Develop and oversee school-based drop-ins, listening spaces and wellbeing opportunities.
- Help establish mentoring and relational support provision within a school.
- Build strong working relationships with school staff and contribute to a culture of collaboration around young people's wellbeing.
- Support the development of systems and processes that enable early identification and intervention.
- Coordinate wellbeing opportunities delivered through the wider Kingdom
Overflow team and volunteers.
- Help connect school-based support with wider Kingdom Overflow projects.
- Contribute to the development of new initiatives, partnerships and pathways in response to identified need.
Partnership and Pathway Development
The postholder will:
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with schools, community organisations, local authorities and specialist services.
- Help create integrated pathways of support that enable young people to access the right support at the right time.
- Coordinate referrals to appropriate services and opportunities.
- Attend and contribute to multi-agency meetings where appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with pastoral, safeguarding, SEND and wellbeing teams within school settings.
- Strengthen connections between universal provision, targeted support and specialist intervention.
- Advocate for young people and families where appropriate.
- Help create personalised pathways into Kingdom Overflow projects and partner provision.
Volunteer Leadership and Development
The postholder will:
- Recruit, train, coordinate and support volunteer mentors, listeners and project staff alongside the Director and wider Kingdom Overflow team.
- Help develop a sustainable network of volunteers capable of providing safe, accessible and relational support.
- Provide appropriate supervision, encouragement and development opportunitiesfor volunteers.
- Ensure safeguarding, accountability and professional standards are maintained across volunteer-led activities.
- Support volunteers in recognising emerging needs and accessing referrals.
- Foster a culture of belonging, hospitality, encouragement and relational support.
- Participate with events and opportunities to engage stakeholders and supporters, and to recruit further volunteers.
Community and Church-Based Provision
The postholder will:
- Contribute to the development and delivery of community and church-based projects that create belonging, strengthen relationships and provide accessible opportunities for support.
- Work alongside Arts, Dance, Sports, and other project leaders to develop integrated opportunities for engagement, participation and development.
- Recognise community provision as an important relational gateway through which trust, belonging and support can be developed.
- Strengthen protective factors through participation in positive relationships, activities and communities.
- Support the development of community-based groups, projects and opportunities that respond to local need.
- Help young people access opportunities across the wider Kingdom Overflow pathway.
- Create pathways into belonging, participation, leadership and personal development for young people and young adults.
- Contribute to the wider vision of seeing local churches become a transforming presence at the heart of young people's worlds.
Safeguarding, Evaluation and Professional Practice
The postholder will:
- Always follow safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Maintain appropriate records and reporting systems.
- Participate in reflective practice, supervision and professional development.
- Work within the limits of their professional competence and qualifications.
- Contribute to evaluation, impact measurement and organisational learning.
- Support the development of policies, procedures and good practice as needed.
- Meet with their line manager and wider team for supervision, support and planning.
- Act as an ambassador for Kingdom Overflow and uphold the values, ethos and reputation of the organisation.
