Qualified Music Teacher freelance Brick Lane Music Academy CIC is a thriving community interest company , dedicated to delivering music to all areas of the population within Renfrewshire and beyond. We believe strongly that music has a powerful impact on health and well being. We are looking for someone with a Primary class music or Secondary class music background to take on and cover some teaching in local schools and take on new classes at Brick Lane Music Academy Key Requirements

Essential

Experience teaching Kodály-based music sessions to groups of children.
Experience working with primary-aged children, including children with Additional Support Needs (ASN).
Ability to teach piano to small groups of children.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Reliable, enthusiastic, and available to cover sessions, sometimes at short notice.
Genuine interest in community music and the academy's mission.

Desirable

Experience delivering music workshops in:
Care homes
Community groups
Other community settings

What the Role Involves

Teaching music classes in local schools.
Running new classes at Brick Lane Music Academy.
Providing session feedback and working with the academy's impact coordinator.
Freelance work with variable hours.

Points to Highlight in Your Application

Kodály training or practical experience.
Primary or secondary school music teaching experience.
Piano teaching experience, especially group lessons.
Experience supporting learners with ASN.
Community music projects, workshops, or outreach work.
Reliability, flexibility, and enthusiasm for widening access to music.

Pay: £24.00-£35.00 per hour
