Full job description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the United Kingdom, employing approximately 40,000 staff across a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million people, and to a wider population of 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.

The role:

An exciting opportunity has become available for a District Nurse Specialist Practitioner to join the Overnight Service within Renfrewshire HSCP.

This role is ideal for an enthusiastic and motivated District Nurse looking to become part of a supportive team.

Working as a member of the Primary Health Care Team and in collaboration with the Clinical Team Leaders, you will provide clinical and managerial leadership, supporting the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care while contributing to the implementation of local and national strategies.

All roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

This is a permanent part-time post working 27 hours per week over Monday-Sunday 9.30 pm - 07:00 am
This post will be based in Renfrewshire HSCP
Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part-time hours.

Key responsibilities:

As a member of the Primary Health Care Team, you will work collaboratively with the Clinical Team Leaders to support the implementation of local and national strategies. You will provide clinical and managerial leadership to the nursing team and be responsible for the day-to-day management of the service, ensuring the delivery of person-centred assessment and care planning.

You will provide clinical expertise, supervision and oversight to the team, promoting high standards of patient care and supporting continuous service improvement.

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

Registered Nurse with current Level 1 Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) registration.
Successfully attained the Specialist Practitioner Qualification (SPQ) in District Nursing or equivalent.
Experience of working within District Nursing or Community Nursing services.
Demonstrable clinical leadership and management skills.
Knowledge of person-centred assessment and care planning.
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Excellent communication, organisational and decision-making skills.
A current driving licence is essential, as community travel is a requirement of the role.
