Driver / Dog Walker
Rate of Pay: £14 per hour
Location: Levernbank Kennels & Cattery, GlasgowPosition: Part-Time (20 hours per week, with additional hours available as the service grows). Working hours will typically be Monday to Friday, covering either a 9:00am–1:00pm shift or a 12:00pm–4:00pm shift.
As our dog walking and transport services continue to grow, we’re looking for a reliable, enthusiastic, and dog-savvy individual to join our team as a Driver / Dog Walker. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the expansion of a valued service, helping to ensure the safety, welfare, and enjoyment of the dogs in our care. Alongside a competitive rate of pay, you’ll benefit from additional hours as the service develops and enjoy a varied role where no two days are the same.
Key Responsibilities
- Collection and drop-off of boarding dogs from customer homes.
- Transporting dogs to and from veterinary appointments.
- Carrying out supply runs and collecting stock as required.
- Leading and supervising group dog walks for both boarding dogs and local dog walking clients.
- Ensuring all dogs are transported and exercised safely and responsibly.
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation of company vehicles.
- Assisting with the day-to-day operation of the kennels when required.
Essential Requirements
- Full, clean UK driving licence.
- Confident handling dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments.
- Ability to safely manage dogs in group settings.
- Strong understanding of canine body language and behaviour.
- Ability to identify potential issues before they escalate and maintain a safe, positive environment for all dogs.
- Reliable, trustworthy, and punctual.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
Desirable
- Previous experience working in a kennels, daycare, rescue, dog walking, or similar animal care environment.
- Animal care qualifications or relevant training.
- Experience driving vans or transporting dogs.
