Full job description

Are you highly motivated and looking for a career in construction, well look not further we are looking for general construction operatives to help on up and coming projects.

You will experience and works along site existing tradesman, site manager, skilled labour and other general operatives. Where you can develop and improve your skills and knowledge in construction. Works you will be involved with will be varied and you will be involved in many elements of the construction project. From the initial site set up, erecting hoardings, safety signs, barriers and site huts, through demolition, stripping out, working with various tradesman, preparing building materials such as cement and plaster and all the way through to cleaning and clearing the site on completion.

Common tasks include:

Ensuring site welfare and accommodation is maintained and kept clean & clear.
Help with site setting up, fencing, welfare unit, Signage, etc.
Ensuring the site is keep clean and clear and help tradesman keep their work area clear.
Demolition/internal strip out works.
Moving and helping to relocate materials to ensure site stay in good working order.
Support tradesman and the site manager with general tasks.
Work well as a team member and take direction and give direction when necessary.

Skills
To be a construction operative you should:

be physically fit
be familiar with construction (advantageous)
have good practical ability
be able to follow written and verbal instructions
be comfortable working at heights
be able to work as part of a team
have an awareness of health and safety issues.

Hours and Environment
You will work a basic 40-hour week, Starting at 07.30 on site and finishing 16.30 with two 30-minute breaks Overtime at weekends and evenings maybe available when deadlines need to be met.

Holiday - 21 days and 8 Bank holiday

Construction operatives work inside and outside in all weathers and often at heights. Protective clothing such as safety helmets, ear defenders, goggles and boots will be issued to you and are to be worn. The work is physically demanding and involves using a range of tools and may require carrying heavy or awkward materials.

Pay: £12.71-£14.50 per hour
