Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Window Fitter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in installing and repairing windows, with a comprehensive understanding of various construction and fabrication techniques. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, ensuring high standards of quality and safety. The position is paid and suitable for professionals with a keen eye for detail and excellent craftsmanship.

Duties

Measure, cut, and install a variety of window units in residential and commercial buildings
Ensure precise fitting and sealing of windows to optimise energy efficiency and security
Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and installation instructions
Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised fabrication equipment to complete installations
Collaborate with other trades such as roofing, carpentry, masonry, and electrical teams to coordinate project tasks
Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to health and safety regulations
Conduct inspections of completed work to ensure compliance with specifications and standards
Assist in the preparation of surfaces through plastering or construction painting as needed

Experience

Proven experience in window fitting or related construction roles
Knowledge of roofing, plumbing, welding, electrical systems, and masonry is advantageous
Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and fabrication machinery
Familiarity with schematics, technical drawings, and construction plans
Prior experience working on projects involving construction painting or plastering is desirable
Strong understanding of safety protocols within the construction industry
