Full job description

Job Title: Phlebotomist

Location: Binscombe Medical Centre
Hours: 3 x 4 hour shifts - Monday and Wednesday afternoons and Friday morning

Rate of Pay: From £13.00 per hour, depending on experience

Overview
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Phlebotomist to work within a friendly primary care environment.

Key Responsibilities

Perform venepuncture safely and efficiently for patients of all ages
Label and handle samples in accordance with clinical protocols
Patient blood pressure (training would be given if required)
Ensure accurate patient identification and record-keeping
Maintain high standards of infection control and hygiene
Provide a calm and reassuring experience for patients
Work collaboratively with the wider practice and extended access team

Requirements

Proven experience in phlebotomy (primary care experience desirable)
Relevant training/certification in venepuncture
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently in a busy clinic setting
Knowledge of EMIS is an advantage
