Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant/Dispenser to join our team in Currie Pharmacy. The successful candidate will be responsible for serving customers and accurately dispensing medications, supporting patient care, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the pharmacy. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with pharmacy experience to develop their skills within a professional environment committed to patient wellbeing.

Duties

Dispense prescribed medications accurately in accordance with prescriptions and pharmacy protocols
Assist pharmacists in preparing and organising medication orders for patients
Provide information to patients regarding medication usage, potential side effects, and storage instructions
Support medication administration processes where applicable, ensuring compliance with safety standards
Maintain precise records of dispensed medications and patient interactions
Ensure the pharmacy environment adheres to health and safety regulations
Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and placing orders as necessary
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimise patient care and medication management
Order stock

Skills

Knowledge of medication administration procedures and safety protocols
Strong organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail
Excellent communication skills, capable of providing clear guidance to patients and team members
Ability to work efficiently under pressure whilst maintaining accuracy
Compassionate approach with a focus on patient care and support
Familiarity with pharmacy management software is desirable but not essential

This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to contribute to patient health outcomes while developing their professional expertise within a supportive team environment.

Hours

Mon - Thurs 9:30am-2:30pm

Fri 12:30-5:45pm

Job Type: Part-time

Experience:

Pharmacy experienced preferred but previous retail or customer service experience necessary
