Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and caring Nursery Lunch Cover to support our early childhood education team. This role involves supervising children during lunch periods, ensuring their safety and wellbeing while fostering a positive and nurturing environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with young children and possess strong communication skills to effectively engage with children and staff. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a child's development within a supportive nursery setting.

Responsibilities

Supervise children during lunchtime, ensuring their safety and behaviour management
Assist children with eating and encourage healthy eating habits
Maintain a clean and hygienic environment in the dining area
Support children in socialising and developing their social skills during lunch periods
Communicate effectively with nursery staff regarding children's needs or behavioural concerns
Follow nursery policies and procedures related to child safety and wellbeing
Support the transition of children from playtime to lunchtime routines
Assist with any additional childcare duties as required by the nursery team

Experience

Previous experience working with children in a nursery or early childhood setting is preferred
Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childcare practices
Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Experience working with young children, including understanding their developmental needs
Valid driving licence is desirable

This role is ideal for individuals passionate about childcare, early childhood development, and creating a nurturing environment for young learners. Applicants should be organised, patient, and enthusiastic about supporting children's growth through engaging activities and attentive supervision.

The hours of this job will be Monday - Friday 11:30am - 2pm.

Pay: £12.80 per hour
