Full job description

Overview:

We are seeking a motivated hard working individual to join our team. The role of Press Operative will ensure the safe operation and running of Large Hydraulic / Mechanical Presses, making sure all parts conform with the Master sample and inline with SPS documentation.

The role with involve loading and unloading sheet metal at set production rates whilst adhering to Quality specification of parts produced.

Main Activities

Responsible for the processing of Parts that meet the quality standard and where non-conformances arise ensure these are reported and highlighted immediately
Responsible for ensuring that all SOP’s, Quality Plans and Work Instructions are adhered to and all necessary documentation completed in a timely manner
Deal with any issues as they arise and seek immediate advice from the Supervision / Team Leader when necessary
Support the Supervisor / Team Leader with ensuring the required independent quality inspections are carried out
Support the Supervisor / Team Leader in driving continuous improvement initiatives in the bay
Undertake alternative value-added activities for periods of non-productive work
Ensure the area meets and exceed the company standards on 5s

Experience/Skills

Proven experience within manufacturing environment preferably in a Press department
Must be able to take a common sense approach
Basic numerical and written skills to ensure that productivity can be reported and issues can be recorded for resolution.

Day Shift - Monday - Thursday 0730 - 1715 x 2 weeks
Night Shift - Monday - Wednesday 2145 - 0730, Thursday 2015 - 0600 x 2 weeks
