Executive Operations Manager

£32,000 per annum
37.5 hours per week
Based in Redruth, with travel to other CN4C locations as required

This is initially a 12-month fixed-term role, with the potential to extend subject to funding and organisational requirements.

Cornwall Neighbourhoods for Change (CN4C) is looking for an Executive Operations Manager to join our Resources Team and play a central role in supporting the effective running of our organisation.

This is much more than a traditional PA or administration role. You’ll work closely with our CEO and Executive Team and support our Board of Trustees, with responsibilities spanning executive support, governance, HR administration, finance administration and organisational projects.

You’ll be at the heart of the organisation – helping turn plans into action, keeping important processes on track and making sure our leaders, Trustees and wider team have the information and support they need to do their best work.

Cornwall Neighbourhoods for Change (CN4C) is a charity and social enterprise working alongside people and communities across Cornwall.

We’ve been around since 2001 and are focused on creating change that helps people live better lives, be better off and make better sense of the systems around them.

How we work matters to us. Person-centred and trauma-informed approaches are not limited to our frontline services – they influence how we lead, govern, develop policies, manage people, make decisions and work with one another.

The Role

As our Executive Operations Manager, you’ll work closely with our Chief Executive Officer, Operations Director, Strategy, Learning and Development Director and Resources Director.

No two days are likely to look quite the same.

You might be coordinating an important Board meeting, managing executive diaries and inboxes, making sure actions from an Executive Team meeting are progressing, supporting a recruitment process, updating project budgets, reviewing an organisational process or coordinating information for a strategic project.

Your responsibilities will include:

Providing high-quality executive support to our CEO and Executive Team.
Managing diaries, inboxes, meetings and competing priorities.
Coordinating Board and Trustee meetings, papers, minutes and governance actions.
Supporting charity governance and regulatory compliance.
Supporting recruitment, Safer Recruitment processes and onboarding.
Updating project and organisational budgets and supporting financial administration.
Coordinating organisational and strategic projects.
Monitoring actions and helping make sure plans turn into delivery.
Supporting organisational planning, strategic development and funding activity by coordinating information, preparing documentation and monitoring progress.
Reviewing and improving organisational systems, policies and processes.
Helping ensure person-centred and trauma-informed approaches are reflected throughout the way CN4C operates.

This is a role for someone who doesn't just complete a task and move on. We’re looking for someone who notices what needs doing, thinks ahead, asks the right questions and helps find practical solutions.

About You

You may currently be an Executive Assistant, Governance Officer, Business Support Manager, Office Manager, Corporate Services professional, or working in another role that has given you the skills and experience we're looking for.

More important than your current job title is your ability to organise, coordinate, communicate, use sound judgement and build trusted relationships.

We’re looking for someone with:

Significant experience in executive support, governance, business support or organisational administration.
Experience of providing high-level support to senior managers or executives.
Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
Experience of coordinating meetings, preparing papers, taking accurate minutes and following up actions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail.
The ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt when things change.
Confidence handling sensitive and confidential information.
The ability to work independently, use initiative and exercise sound judgement.
Strong digital skills, including Microsoft Office.
An understanding of person-centred and trauma-informed ways of working and a commitment to applying these principles throughout their work.

Experience of charity governance, supporting Trustees, HR administration, budget monitoring or organisational projects would be particularly useful.
