Full job description

Job Summary

Due to continued expansion and business success GH By Products requires a Welder / Fabricator, you will be responsible for the repair and fabrication and welding of related structural components to trailers. This is a hands-on role in a busy trailer repair and service shop environment, with a strong focus on delivering work to the highest standards.

Key responsibilities include

Performing MIG welding (and other techniques as required) on mild steel/ aluminium/ stainless steel and structural components to produce strong, durable repairs.
Cutting, grinding, measuring, and assembling /repairs using power tools and fabrication equipment.
Ensuring all work meets quality standards.
Maintaining strict adherence to Health & Safety procedures and safe use of all welding and fabrication equipment.
Keeping a clean and organised workstation (good housekeeping standards).
Collaborating closely with team leaders and colleagues to achieve daily targets.

Candidate Requirements

Proven experience as a Welder ideally in, trailers, commercial vehicles, chassis, or heavy fabrication.
Strong welding skills (MIG essential; TIG or other processes advantageous).
Ability to read and work from engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Good practical experience with fabrication tools (angle grinders, measuring equipment, etc.).
A solid work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to maintain focus in a production setting.
Commitment to quality, safety, and teamwork.
Relevant qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ in Welding/Fabrication) are highly desirable but not essential experience is key.

Hourly Rate of £14 per hour, depending on experience and skills (with potential for review based on performance).
28 days annual leave (inclusive of statutory holidays).

Working Hours

full time/ psrt times roles and job share available
Monday to Friday
Weekend work availability as required
