Location: Barrow , Material Recovery Facility on Walney Road

Hours: 37 per week (hours of work are to be agreed but requirements may include Monday – Sunday 8am – 5pm )
About this opportunity
Westmorland and Furness Council is seeking to employ an enthusiastic and motivated person to manage the operational delivery of the Material Recover Facility in Barrow-in-Furness within the waste and streetscene service. The role is to ensure that the site is compliant with its permits and operates legally, material is processed or sent for processing appropriately, staff are support and managed to ensure effective and efficient operations

The role requires a flexible approach to the work a range of different people, and a high level of commitment to delivering excellent service is essential. The nature of the work means that the post holder will come into contact with a range of people so good communications and negotiating skills are required, the ability to manage people and to effectively procure and manage contracts.
There is the option to Job share in this role should the candidates require and it would also be consider for career development.
