JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job Purpose: To provide overnight support, welfare monitoring, safeguarding, and building security within supported accommodation services, ensuring residents remain safe, supported and able to sustain their tenancy

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide support to the residents from 8pm to 8am, 3 nights on 3 nights off
Respond effectively to incidents, delivering support and interventions using a trauma-informed approach
Work alongside security to de-escalate any challenging behaviour from residents
Carry out site walks at regular intervals, focusing on health & safety and residents’ welfare
Report any health & safety or repair requirements, maintaining records as required.
Carry out welfare checks on residents where concerns have been identified
Maintain the security and safety of the residents and building by monitoring CCTV, and ensuring guests are aware of all relevant procedures
Work in a trauma informed way providing practical and emotional support, guidance and signposting to help residents maintain their wellbeing and sustain their accommodation
Complete accurate incident, safeguarding and welfare records following all interventions.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

Report repairs via an online portal
Use the InForm system to accurately record resident information in line with GDPR, updating as appropriate
Understand risk in a residential setting and work as a team to manage this effectively
Participate fully as a member of the team to ensure that services are provided and maintained to a high standard
Abide by all IMPAKT housing and support staff and working policies and procedures
Promote the aims and purposes of the supported accommodation services and IMPAKT Housing & Support
In addition to the duties set out in this job description, the post holder may at times be required to undertake additional duties to meet the needs of IMPAKT Housing &Support

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Essential:

Desirable:

Experience of:

Working with vulnerable people in a supportive environment

Identifying the needs of vulnerable homeless people and working with them to manage these needs and develop life skills.

Communicating with a diverse range of people

Qualifications:

Minimum Level 2 Certificate in supporting people at risk of homelessness, or equivalent in social care, support services etc.

First Aid Certificate

Evidence of CPD

Skills and Abilities:

Ability to build supportive relationships with residents whilst maintaining professional boundaries

Ability to work as part of the team, but also on own initiative and, at times, unsupervised

Excellent records keeping skills

Ability to use Information and Communication Technology and adapt to use housing specific software applications

Good written and verbal communication skills and the capacity to engage and communicate with individuals at all levels

Qualities and General:

Understanding of the impact of trauma and ability to work in a trauma informed way within a PIE (Psychologically Informed Environment)

Understanding of issues effecting vulnerable and homeless people

Good understanding of Safeguarding and what constitutes abuse

Knowledge and understanding of health and safety

General:

Highly committed to improving the lives of those who have experienced homelessness

Work within the boundaries of IMPAKT housing and support policies and procedures

Ability to respect the Ethos of the IMPAKT Housing & Support and uphold its values

Willingness to develop within the job and undergo relevant training

Friendly personality with a good sense of humour

Clean enhanced DBS (Paid for by the organisation)
