Experienced Youth Worker / Residential Support Worker (Children's EBD Home)

Location: Wellingborough (NN9), Northamptonshire
Salary: £29,000 - £35,000 per year (depending on experience, qualifications, and shift pattern)

We are looking for an Experienced Youth Worker / Residential Support Worker to join our established children's residential home in Wellingborough (NN9), providing high-quality care and support for children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).

This is an opportunity to join a supportive team that is committed to creating a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where every young person has the opportunity to thrive.

The Role

As part of our residential care team, you will play a vital role in providing consistent care, guidance, and encouragement to children and young people who have experienced trauma and adversity.

The role operates on a rota of long-day shifts with sleep-ins, ensuring stability and continuity of care for the young people we support.

Your Responsibilities

Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people.
Deliver high-quality, person-centred care in line with individual care plans.
Support education, daily routines, appointments, and recreational activities.
Encourage independence, emotional wellbeing, and life skills development.
Respond positively to challenging behaviours using therapeutic approaches.
Maintain accurate daily records, reports, and safeguarding documentation.
Work alongside social workers, education providers, healthcare professionals, and families to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Ensure the home remains a safe, welcoming, and nurturing environment at all times.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking someone who is:

Experienced in youth work, residential childcare, children's support work, or a similar role.
Confident working with children and young people with EBD, trauma, and challenging behaviours.
Compassionate, resilient, reliable, and committed to making a positive difference.
Flexible to work long-day shifts and sleep-ins on a rota basis.
Able to work effectively as part of a dedicated team.

Desirable

Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete).
Knowledge of Ofsted Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
Full UK Driving Licence.
