Full job description

Leez Priory has an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Bar Manager to join our talented team at one of the UK's leading wedding venues, set within 40 acres of beautiful Essex countryside.

A stunning Tudor manor house steeped in history, Leez Priory has been creating unforgettable wedding experiences for over 30 years. As part of the Country House Weddings group, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional service and creating memorable experiences for every couple and guest.

About the Role

As Deputy Bar Manager, you will support the management of the bar operation and bar team, helping to ensure the efficient delivery of service at weddings and events. You will work closely with the Food & Beverage Manager, Personal Wedding Managers and Venue Management Team to deliver an exceptional guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

Support the day-to-day management of the bar team during weddings and events.
Assist with staff rotas, scheduling and resource planning to ensure adequate event coverage.
Lead and oversee drinks service, ensuring high standards of presentation and customer service at all times.
Support the training and development of bar staff, ensuring team members are knowledgeable about products, menus and service standards.
Ensure the smooth running of all bar operations throughout events.
Participate in event set-up, preparation, cleaning and close-down procedures.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and organisation throughout all bar areas, including monthly deep cleans.
Assist with stock control, stock rotation and ordering processes.
Complete monthly stock takes in the absence of the Food & Beverage Manager and ensure all documentation is accurately completed and submitted.
Monitor licensing compliance and responsible alcohol service practices.
Act as a key point of support for the wider venue operations team as required.

Skills and Experience

Previous experience within a bar supervisory or management role.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
Good organisational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and work effectively in a fast-paced event environment.
Personal Licence Holder desirable but not essential.
