Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organised GP Patient Services Lead (job share) to oversee the efficient operation of our primary care reception and administrative functions. This role involves coordinating patient appointments, managing administrative tasks, and supporting the clinical team to deliver high-quality healthcare services. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a proactive approach, and previous office experience to ensure smooth patient flow and administrative excellence within our practice.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise the reception team to ensure outstanding patient service delivery.
Manage patient appointment scheduling, cancellations, and follow-ups with accuracy and efficiency.
Oversee administrative tasks including data entry, filing, and maintaining patient records in compliance with data protection regulations.
Act as a liaison between patients, clinical staff, and external organisations to facilitate effective communication.
Ensure adherence to practice protocols, confidentiality standards, and health and safety policies.
Assist in training new staff members and providing ongoing support to the team.
Handle patient enquiries both in person and via telephone professionally and courteously.
Support the implementation of new systems or procedures aimed at improving practice operations.

Qualifications

Proven experience in an office or administrative environment, preferably within a healthcare setting.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail.
Proficiency in using office software such as MS Office Suite or equivalent programmes.
Experience in managing a team or supervising staff is desirable but not essential.
Knowledge of healthcare administration processes is advantageous but not mandatory. This role offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to the smooth running of our healthcare practice while developing your leadership skills within a supportive environment.

Pay: From £31,000.00 per year
