Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic National Standards Cycling Instructor to deliver high-quality cycling instruction aligned with national standards. This is delivered in schools during term time. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching individuals of all ages and skill levels, promoting safe cycling practices, and fostering a positive learning environment. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to community health and wellbeing through active engagement in cycling education. Training will be provided for unqualified Cycle Instructors.

Duties

Deliver structured cycling lessons in accordance with national standards, ensuring safety and enjoyment for all participants
Assess learners’ skill levels and tailor instruction accordingly to maximise progress
Promote safe riding techniques and responsible behaviour on the road or designated cycling areas
Organise and supervise practical sessions, including manoeuvres, balance exercises, and traffic awareness training
Maintain equipment, including bicycles and safety gear, ensuring they are in good condition for use
Record attendance and progress of learners, providing feedback and encouragement throughout the programme
Collaborate with organisers to plan sessions, events, and community outreach initiatives aimed at increasing cycling participation
Uphold health and safety protocols at all times during instruction sessions

Experience

Proven experience in sports coaching or teaching, preferably within cycling or related activities
Strong understanding of cycling techniques, safety standards, and traffic regulations
Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and engage learners of diverse backgrounds
Previous experience in delivering structured lessons or training programmes is desirable
Enthusiasm for promoting active lifestyles and environmental sustainability through cycling

This role is ideal for passionate individuals committed to fostering safe cycling habits while inspiring community participation. Applicants should demonstrate a proactive approach, organisational skills, and a genuine interest in sports education.

Pay: £100.00 per day
