Exciting opportunity for someone with experience in data protection and compliance to join our growing consultancy business.

This role would be an excellent opportunity for an experienced, qualified data protection professional to work across a diverse range of clients and projects and to grow with our business. You will gain exposure to organisations across the UK, Europe and the USA, supporting clients in a range of sectors including healthcare, technology, charities and commercial organisations.

Job description

You will work within our DPO team with a range of responsibilities including:

Supporting clients in the creation and management of data protection related processes, policies and procedures.
Providing Data Protection review for client contracts and processing agreements.
Conducting client project reviews.
Supporting clients with Data Subject Access Requests, Data Breaches, Risk Assessments, Data Protection Impact Assessments and other Data Protection activities.
Providing guidance to clients on data protection requirements and controls.
Supporting clients in achieving industry specific standards.
Updating clients on changes to data protection legislation.
Supporting the creation and delivery of client training.

You will be an organised individual with exceptional attention to detail, capable of managing multiple projects and client relationships simultaneously. You will be comfortable working independently while also contributing positively within a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Qualities / Experience

Essential

· Minimum 3 years' experience in a privacy, data protection or information governance role.

· Excellent attention to detail with strong writing, proofreading and document review skills.

· Ability to work effectively within a small team and independently as required.

· Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex regulatory requirements in a clear and practical manner.

· Commitment to continuing professional development.

· Good understanding of information security principles and risk management.

Desirable

· Degree-level education in Law, Information Governance, Business, IT, Compliance or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

· One or more recognised data protection qualifications, such as CIPP/E, EU-GDPR-P, CIPM or similar.

· Experience working within healthcare, NHS, social care, charity, technology or regulated environments.

· Understanding of Cyber Essentials, Cyber Essentials Plus, NCSC guidance and broader information security controls.

· Experience supporting organisations with compliance audits, certifications or industry standards.

Location and Working Arrangements

Salary: £37,500-£47,500 per year depending on experience plus discretionary annual bonus.
