About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Mining Engineer to join our Mining Technical Team, supporting an owner-operator open pit hard rock metals operation. This role will play a key part in mine planning, design, and optimisation, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective production across short and medium planning horizons.
Key Responsibilities
- Medium, and short-term mine planning processes to support production and strategic objectives
- Develop and optimise mine designs, schedules, and production plans
- Utilise mine planning software (ideally Deswik) to drive best practices and efficiencies
- Review load and haul operations, including fleet productivity and cost performance
- Contribute to mine infrastructure planning and integration with operational requirements
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives across mining activities
- Support and deliver technical mining projects
- Collaborate closely with geology, drill & blast, and survey teams to ensure alignment and data accuracy
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and operational standards
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering, or equivalent
- 4+ years’ experience in open pit hard rock mining, preferably in an owner-operator environment
- Experienced short and medium term mine planning
- Proficiency in mine design and scheduling software (Deswik highly preferred)
- Demonstrated experience in load and haul optimisation
- Experienced in Mine infrastructure design planning and implementation
- Proven track record in continuous improvement and project delivery
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- International mining experience is highly desirable
