Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Kitchen porter to join our esteemed Italian restaurant team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing authentic Italian dishes, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen, and supporting the overall dining experience. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop culinary skills within a vibrant hospitality environment, contributing to our reputation for exceptional cuisine and service.

Responsibilities

Prepare ingredients and cook traditional Italian dishes in accordance with restaurant recipes and standards
Assist in food presentation to ensure visual appeal and quality
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing, sanitising, and storing utensils and equipment
Follow health and safety regulations at all times to ensure a safe working environment
Support other kitchen staff during busy periods, ensuring efficient workflow
Manage stock levels and notify management of any shortages or issues with ingredients or supplies
Adhere to food hygiene standards, including proper handling and storage of food items

Experience

Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a restaurant setting, preferably specialising in Italian cuisine
Previous kitchen experience in a hospitality environment such as hotels or similar establishments is advantageous
Knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety regulations, and hygiene standards
Experience with serving customers directly or supporting front-of-house staff is desirable but not essential
A genuine interest in hospitality, with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
