Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live-in Carer to provide personalised support and assistance to clients in their own homes. This role involves delivering high-quality care tailored to individual needs, promoting independence, and ensuring safety and comfort. The ideal candidate will have experience in assisted living, senior care, or related fields, and possess a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for those in their care. This is a full-time position requiring live-in accommodation, offering an enriching opportunity to make a meaningful difference.

Responsibilities

Provide personalised care to clients, including assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility.
Administer medication accurately and monitor health conditions as required.
Support clients with meal preparation, ensuring nutritional needs are met.
Manage behaviour and provide emotional support, especially for clients with dementia or Alzheimer's.
Assist with light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment.
Offer companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental well-being.
Support clients with mobility and transfer techniques, including heavy lifting if necessary.
Drive clients to appointments or social activities when required, ensuring safe transportation.
Respond promptly to emergencies or urgent health concerns using first aid skills when needed.
Maintain detailed records of care provided and any changes in client condition.

Requirements

Proven experience in assisted living, senior care, or home care environments.
Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer's, hospice care, and behaviour management strategies.
Relevant qualifications such as first aid certification and caregiving training are highly desirable.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility needs.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage medication schedules accurately.
Valid driving licence preferred for transportation duties.
Compassionate nature with strong communication skills and patience.
Flexibility to work live-in shifts that may include overnight stays; ability to adapt to changing client needs.
Must be organised, reliable, and committed to providing exceptional care in a respectful manner.
