Job Overview

We are seeking a meticulous and organised Accounts Receivable / Credit Control (Debtors & Creditors) Clerk to join our finance team. This role involves managing the company’s accounts receivable and payable functions, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts, and maintaining accurate financial records. The ideal candidate will possess strong data entry skills, familiarity with accounting software, and excellent communication abilities to liaise effectively with clients and internal departments. This position offers an opportunity to develop your expertise within a dynamic financial services environment, supporting the organisation’s financial health and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

Manage accounts receivable processes, including invoicing, payment processing, and debt collection.
Maintain accurate records of debtor accounts using recognised accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or PeopleSoft.
Perform data entry tasks related to invoices, payments, and credit notes with precision.
Monitor overdue accounts and initiate telemarketing or follow-up calls to facilitate prompt payments while maintaining professional phone etiquette.
Reconcile accounts payable and receivable transactions regularly to ensure consistency and accuracy.
Analyse debtor data to identify trends or discrepancies, providing reports as required for management review.
Assist in resolving billing disputes or queries from clients efficiently and courteously.
Support the finance team with ad hoc administrative duties related to credit control and financial record management.

Experience

Proven experience working within accounts receivable or credit control roles in a financial services setting is preferred.
Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or PeopleSoft is essential.
Strong data entry skills with high accuracy levels are required.
Familiarity with accounts payable processes is advantageous.
Experience in telemarketing or making professional follow-up calls will be beneficial.
Excellent analysis skills to interpret financial data accurately.
Demonstrable phone etiquette and strong organisational abilities are crucial for success in this role.
