Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting mechanical systems and equipment across water & waste water treatment plants. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of machinery, contributing directly to operational excellence.

Duties

Install, assemble, and calibrate mechanical components and systems according to technical schematics and engineering drawings.
Fitting pumps, pipework in various materials
Fitting baffles, scrapers weir plant ect.
Capable of reading P & I drawings and Isometric drawings.
Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams to facilitate accurate repairs and installations.
Collaborate with electrical teams when troubleshooting integrated mechanical-electrical systems involving programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
Supervise junior technicians or apprentices during maintenance activities, ensuring safety standards are maintained at all times.
Provide excellent customer service by addressing client concerns professionally and delivering timely solutions.
Lead maintenance projects with a focus on safety, efficiency, and quality standards while mentoring team members.

Experience

Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter or in a similar role within the water treatment industry.
Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in installing, repairing, and maintaining complex machinery.
Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings accurately.
Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation and collaboration with diverse teams.
Customer service orientation with a proactive approach to problem-solving and client satisfaction.

CSCS - Construction Site
IPAF - Scizzor Lift, Cherry Picker
PASMA -Scaffold
EUSR - Water Hygeine
Confined Space Entry
Driving Licence.

Pay: Up to £15.18 per hour
