Full job description

Barista / All-Rounder

YOT – Heswall

We’re looking for a Barista / All-Rounder to join the YOT team!

YOT is a unique, outdoor-focused café in Heswall, serving great coffee, delicious food and bringing a little bit of coastal holiday feeling to the area. We’re a busy, friendly and slightly chaotic team (in the best possible way!) and we’re looking for someone who can jump in, get stuck in and have fun with us.

The important bit – weekday availability

You MUST be available to work weekdays and weekends. This is really important to us, as our weekday shifts are a key part of the role. We’re looking for someone who can commit to regular weekday shifts and isn’t only looking for weekend work.

EXPERIENCE AS A BARISTA IS A MUST

What you’ll be doing

Making consistently great coffee and speciality drinks
Taking orders and providing friendly, welcoming customer service
Preparing and serving food
Keeping the café, outdoor areas and workspaces clean and organised
Helping with opening and closing duties
Supporting the wider team wherever needed
Getting involved in new menu ideas, drinks and specials
Helping create a fun and positive atmosphere for our customers
Supporting events and private hire when required
Being happy to get stuck into whatever the day throws at you!

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who is:

Friendly, confident and approachable
Passionate about great coffee and hospitality
Comfortable working in a busy environment
A team player who is happy to muck in
Reliable and punctual
Able to work independently as well as part of a team
Confident talking to customers and building relationships
Creative and willing to bring ideas to the table
Available to work weekdays on a regular basis plus weekends

Barista experience is preferred, but personality, attitude and a genuine love of hospitality are just as important to us. We can teach skills — we can’t teach someone to care!
