About Us
Hawarden Estate is home to a family of unique and creative businesses — from Hawarden Estate Holidays, The Walled Garden School, and The Good Life Society, to Hawarden Castle Pavilion, Hawarden Estate Farm Shop, and The Glynne Arms. We also operate Glen Dye Cabins & Cottages in Scotland.
Our mission is simple: to put Hawarden on the map — serving our local community while welcoming visitors to explore this beautiful corner of Wales. We deliver hospitality, experiences, and marketing with creativity, warmth, and high standards.
The Role
We're looking for an experienced Events Manager to lead the planning and delivery of an exciting and growing calendar of weddings, events, and guest experiences across the Hawarden Estate.
Weddings sit at the heart of this role. As our licensed wedding venue — The Walled Garden — continues to grow, you will own the guest journey from enquiry through to the big day itself: show-rounds, planning meetings, supplier coordination, and on-site delivery, ensuring every wedding reflects the estate's standards for warmth, style, and flawless execution.
Beyond weddings, this is a hands-on, varied role blending event management, project coordination, and on-site operations — spanning everything from Walled Garden School workshops and private dinners to festivals alongside a roster of seasonal internal events.
The role involves regular weekend work and evening hours, reflecting the nature of weddings and our wider events and guest-facing activities.
Key ResponsibilitiesWeddings
● Act as the primary point of contact for wedding enquiries, show-rounds, and client relationships from initial booking through to the wedding day.
● Lead wedding planning meetings with couples, advising on venue layout, timings, suppliers, and styling to bring their vision to life within estate standards.
● Manage the wedding booking calendar, contracts, payment schedules, and terms and conditions
● Coordinate preferred suppliers (florists, entertainment, etc.) and act as the on-site lead for setup, ceremony, reception, and breakdown.
● Maintain and develop wedding venue documentation, licensing compliance, and pricing in line with Flintshire County Council requirements.
● Continue to grow the wedding offer — identifying opportunities to enhance the guest experience and increase forward booking pace.
Events Planning & Delivery
● Plan, curate, and manage Walled Garden School workshops, including set-up, on-site management, staff coordination, and take-down.
● Support the curation and delivery of The Good Life Society Summer Camp — including workshops, customer liaison, and on-the-ground guest management (alongside the wider team).
● Lead delivery of a range of estate events (e.g. Easter Show, corporate/private events, Bonfire Night) — including logistics, set-up, guest experience, and breakdown.
● Plan and deliver small-scale events and experiences, such as private dinners, press launches, and bespoke activations.
● Work closely with senior team members to ensure the look, feel, and design of all events meets brand standards and enhances the guest experience.
Customer Experience & Liaison
● Act as a welcoming and knowledgeable point of contact for guests on site — answering questions, providing guidance, and ensuring a seamless experience.
● Lead tours, show-rounds, and estate visits, representing Hawarden Estate with warmth and professionalism.

● Flexibility to work weekends and evenings, especially during peak wedding season and major events.
