Shift Process Operator (4 On, 4 Off)

We are currently recruiting for 4 Shift Process Operators at our West Thurrock site;

1 X PAC Plant
2 X HCL Load
1 X Chlor Alkali Plant

Established in 1976, Industrial Chemicals Ltd are a privately owned Chemical Manufacturing Company with a turnover in excess of £125 million per year. Employing over 500 staff across its network of UK manufacturing sites, with an on-going re-investment programme to improve Health & Safety, efficiency and business development, ICL are leaders in the Industry and key suppliers to many of the UK’s leading Water Treatment Companies.

We are recruiting for a Shift Process Operator, who are responsible for stock control and quality assurance, supply to customer requirements and for deliveries being met on time.

Tasks include:

· Ensure the safety of yourself, your colleagues, those working on the plant and visitors to the plant
Use of Data Acquisition software to monitor the condition and parameters of tanker loading and stock
Reading instruments and making adjustments to settings as required
Manual operation of valves, pumps and set points.
Taking scheduled samples for lab analysis.
Supervision of goods in and out, including loading, unloading of road tankers and using forklift trucks.
Physical data logging onto paper and computer records for archiving.
Some manual work including housekeeping and replacing filters etc.
Ensure that any problems are reported to the relevant supervisor/department immediately
Ensure that personal protective clothing is worn at all times, and is in good order
Ensure a thorough and efficient handover is completed by logbook and verbal

Hours: As this is a 24/7 site you are required to work on a 4 On, 4 Off shift pattern which will include shifts covering nights and weekends and bank holidays

Benefits: 17.5 days holiday, weekly paid, life assurance scheme (at 4 x annual salary), private medical insurance, auto-enrolled pension, long service payment and additional holidays after 5 years’ service and cycle to work scheme open twice a year.

Pay: £16.00-£17.00 per hour
