Job Overview

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier/Customer Service representative to join our team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, handling transactions accurately, and supporting the overall operation of our establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and experience in food service environments. This position offers an engaging work environment where you can develop your skills in hospitality and customer relations.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and assist with their orders in a courteous manner
Operate the cash register, process payments accurately, and handle cash or card transactions
Provide information about menu items, specials, and promotions to encourage upselling
Ensure food safety standards are maintained during food preparation and serving
Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including basic cooking or assembly of menu items
Maintain cleanliness of the counter, dining area, and service stations in accordance with health regulations
Manage customer enquiries efficiently and resolve any issues promptly to ensure satisfaction
Support team members during busy periods by sharing responsibilities and maintaining a positive attitude

Requirements

Previous experience in restaurant service or food preparation is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
Good organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during busy shifts
Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately
Knowledge of food safety standards and practices is advantageous
Strong communication skills with a friendly and professional demeanour
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
Flexibility to work shifts as required, including weekends and evenings if necessary
