Job Overview

Join our team as a Retail Security Officer and become the frontline guardian of our store’s safety and security. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for maintaining a secure shopping environment, preventing loss, and ensuring the safety of staff and customers alike. Your vigilance and proactive approach will help us uphold our commitment to a safe, welcoming, and well-protected retail space. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your security skills while making a tangible difference every day.

Duties

Monitor store premises using surveillance equipment, including CCTV cameras, to detect suspicious activities and ensure safety protocols are followed.
Conduct regular patrols of the sales floor, stockrooms, entrances, exits, and parking areas to deter theft and maintain order.
Implement loss prevention strategies by observing customer behavior and identifying potential theft or vandalism incidents.
Respond promptly to security alarms, disturbances, or emergencies, coordinating with local emergency services when necessary.
Assist in conducting safety inspections and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including providing first aid when needed.
Maintain detailed incident reports, surveillance logs, and security records accurately for future reference.
Educate staff on security procedures and best practices to foster a culture of safety within the store.

Skills

Strong surveillance skills with experience operating CCTV systems to monitor multiple areas simultaneously.
Knowledge of loss prevention techniques to identify and prevent theft or damage effectively.
Ability to respond quickly and calmly in emergency situations, including administering basic first aid if required.
Excellent observational skills with keen attention to detail during patrols and inspections.
Good communication skills for reporting incidents clearly and collaborating with team members.
Physical stamina to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods while maintaining alertness throughout shifts.
A proactive attitude with a commitment to maintaining a safe shopping environment for all customers and staff.
