Manchester SLT is part of the Tx Group, a private therapy organisation providing therapy services in the North West of England. We are looking for an associate speech and language therapists with neurological experience to work between 2 to 4 days at a briain injury unit in St Helens. The successful candiate will join a team of OTs, physios, and psychologists to provide input to patients receiving long term rehabilitation.
The role will include providing specialist assessment and treatment of adults with voice problems, dysphagia and speech, language and communication needs (SLCN). Treatment will be provided in a 1:1 or group basis depending on the client needs and demands. You may be required to work within a wider MDT liaising with and providing training to other members of the MDT. You will work closely with the patient and their families and carers, providing therapy, advice and training in order to maximise the patient's quality of life. Our associate speech and language therapists will be committed to developing themselves as professionals.

What does it take to be successful in this role?
To be successful in this role you would need to:
- Provide high quality, evidence-based speech and language therapy to adults with a range of conditions including, assessment, treatment and recommendations.
- Produce high-quality reports and clearly communicate their professional opinion (written and verbal).
- Be able to consider the holistic needs of each patient when working to achieve their goals and aspirations.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, carers, solicitors, case managers and Manchester SLT admin staff.
- Help patients make significant progress with regards to their speech, language and communication needs.
- Work alongside other speech and language therapists and assistants, supporting and supervising as appropriate.
- Develop a strong rapport with patients and their families and other health professionals.
- Act as a champion for service and speech and language therapy as a profession.
- Demonstrate commitment to CPD and keep up to date with new techniques.
The ideal candidate:
The successful applicant must meet the following requirements:
- BSc, MSc in Speech and Language Therapy or Speech and Language Pathology.
- Eligible for RCSLT membership.
- HCPC Registered.
- Enhanced DBS.
- Experience working within adults (minimum 2 years, including NHS).
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience providing speech and language therapy assessments and interventions for adults.

They will be capable of working independently, prioritising and organising their own workload appropriately and able to use their initiative to deal effectively with varying situations that may arise.
As the role will involve travelling between locations, we would recommend having a driving licence and access to a car. We are also looking for a candidate who is willing to take annual leave outside of school term time.
