Assistant Accountant
12 month FTC
Selby/hybrid – 1-2 days per week in the office

About the role:

As part of the Finance Systems Team, the Assistant Accountant will;

Support the Drax financial control framework, ensuring compliance with Group accounting policies, estimates and judgements.
Assist with the month-end close process, including preparation and posting of manual journals.
Prepare and reconcile key monthly balance sheet accounts, resolving any variances.
Provide support on accounting and tax queries within the Business Unit.
Manage transactional accounting, including processing bank statements across multiple entities and currencies.
Accurately record treasury-related transactions within finance ledgers.
Handle high-value postings with strong attention to detail and adherence to controls.

Who we’re looking for:

To be successful in this role you’ll ideally have…
- A part-qualification - ACA/ACCA/CIMA (or qualified by experience).

Strong attention to detail with a solid understanding of financial controls.
Experience using financial systems.
Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel.
Able to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
Self-motivated, confident, and flexible in approach.
Adaptable, able to work independently and lead by example.
