Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced powder coater to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying powder coatings to various metal components, ensuring a high-quality finish and adherence to safety standards. The position is full-time and suitable for individuals with a background in fabrication, painting, or related trades.
Duties
- Prepare surfaces for coating by cleaning, sanding, or masking as required
- Operate powder coating equipment with precision to apply an even layer of coating on metal parts
- Inspect finished products for quality, ensuring the coating is free of defects such as runs or uneven coverage
- Maintain and clean equipment regularly to ensure optimal performance
- Assist with the setup and calibration of coating machinery
- Follow health and safety protocols at all times during the coating process
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and quality standards
- Assist with packaging goods for delivery
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge and familiarity with handling hand tools and power tools
- Previous powder coating experience is essential
- Experience in fabrication, welding, or construction painting is advantageous
- Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations during preparation and application processes
- Previous warehouse experience or familiarity with assembly environments is beneficial
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot coating equipment effectively
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to powder coating operations
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills to ensure consistent quality standards
