Full job description

This is a customer-facing role involving service, food preparation and café operations. Front of House Team Members deliver excellent customer service while preparing drinks, desserts and food items to Yuum standards in a fast-paced premium café environment. This role is part of the opening team at Yuum The Whiteley

Our ideal candidate:

Responsibilities:

Customer Service

Welcome customers and provide friendly, professional service
Create a welcoming environment and deliver consistently high hospitality standards
Take customer orders using the POS system
Maintain strong product knowledge and confidently recommend products and promotions to increase average order value

Food & Drink Preparation

Prepare drinks, desserts and food items according to Yuum standards
Carry out light food preparation and cold prep when required
Follow product handling and storage procedures
Follow food safety, hygiene and allergen procedures

Operations & Teamwork

Maintain Yuum service, presentation and product standards at all times
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the counter, equipment and service areas
Refill product displays and maintain visual presentation
Assist with deliveries, restocking and inventory organisation
Maintain product display standards
Support waste reduction and stock rotation
Assist with opening, closing and daily operational tasks
Work closely with the team to keep service smooth, organised and welcoming during busy periods
Share feedback and suggestions to help improve service and operations

What we are looking for:

Experience & Skills

Previous experience in hospitality, café, retail or customer service preferred
Comfortable using POS systems and handling customer orders
Good spoken English

Personal qualities

Strong communication and customer service skills
Positive attitude and strong attention to detail
Reliable, organised and able to work in a fast-paced environment
Takes ownership of tasks and service standards
Interest in premium food, drinks or café culture

Work requirements

Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends
Comfortable standing and moving for extended periods during busy service
Work collaboratively with the team to maintain smooth service during peak periods
