Harrogate Convention Centre (HCC) is one of the UK's most prestigious event venues, located in the heart of the beautiful Victorian spa town of Harrogate. Hosting conferences, exhibitions, entertainment events and corporate gatherings, HCC offers over 13,700sqm of versatile event space, including a state-of-the-art 2,000-seat auditorium.
We are looking for a highly motivated and commercially driven Account Sales Manager to join our Sales Team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced sales professional to play a key role in securing new business, developing client relationships and contributing to the continued success of one of the UK's premier conference and exhibition venues.
The Role
As an Account Sales Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and securing new conference, exhibition and corporate event business, whilst also maintaining and developing key client accounts. Working closely with clients from initial enquiry through to signed contract, you will deliver an exceptional customer experience and help maximise venue occupancy and revenue
Key Responsibilities
- Generate new business opportunities to maximise use of Harrogate Convention Centre facilities.
- Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation and prospecting through to negotiation and contract completion.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
- Attend industry exhibitions, networking events and client appointments across the UK and internationally where required.
- Research market trends, competitor activity and emerging opportunities to support sales growth.
- Work with marketing colleagues on targeted campaigns to fill diary gaps and develop new market sectors.
- Maintain accurate records using CRM and venue management systems.
- Prepare sales reports and regularly monitor progress against targets.
- Act as an ambassador for Harrogate Convention Centre, promoting the venue and the wider destination
What We Are Looking For
- Experience within the events, venue, hospitality or hotel sectors.
- Knowledge of event booking systems.
- Proven track record of success within a sales-focused role.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation abilities.
- Experience of working to challenging targets and deadlines.
- Strong customer service and relationship management skills.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and secure positive outcomes.
