Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dog Groomer to join our professional pet care team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality grooming services to dogs of various breeds and sizes, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about animal care and grooming to develop their skills within a supportive environment. The position involves working with animals daily, maintaining a clean and organised workspace, and delivering exceptional customer service to pet owners.

Responsibilities

Perform grooming procedures including bathing, trimming, clipping, and styling according to breed standards and customer preferences.
Assess each dog’s health and behaviour prior to grooming, recognising any signs of illness or distress.
Maintain a safe environment by handling animals gently and securely, ensuring their wellbeing at all times.
Clean and sanitise grooming tools, equipment, and work areas regularly to uphold hygiene standards.
Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding grooming needs, aftercare advice, and any health concerns observed during grooming.
Assist in managing appointment schedules and ensure timely completion of grooming services.
Keep detailed records of each dog’s grooming history and special requirements.
Follow all health and safety regulations related to animal handling and workplace safety.

Skills

Experience in veterinary care or animal care is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of different dog breeds’ grooming requirements.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with pet owners.
Physical strength and stamina for heavy lifting when handling larger dogs or equipment.
Compassionate approach towards animals, with patience and gentle handling techniques.
Organised with attention to detail to ensure high standards of hygiene and grooming quality.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: £15.00-£20.00 per hour
