The Role
Restec is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Head of Marketing to lead both its UK and European divisions. This is a senior leadership position, and the individual appointed will hold full accountability for defining and executing brand strategy, overseeing marketing budgets, and ensuring marketing activity directly drives commercial performance across all markets.
The Head of Marketing will report directly to the Restec Director and working in close partnership with the Global MD, EU Sales team and the Group Head of Technical. This is a role that demands genuine strategic authority, and the appointed individual must bring vision, commercial intelligence, and leadership to shape Restec’s market position across Europe and the UK, while holding clear accountability for marketing investment and its contribution to revenue.
The ideal candidate will be a senior marketing professional who has operated at or near director level within a commercially rigorous B2B environment, ideally in construction materials, building products, industrial manufacturing, or a closely related technical sector. They will be a confident board-level contributor, a credible voice on commercial strategy, and someone who builds marketing functions that are genuinely respected by sales and operations leadership.
Responsibilities:
The Head of Marketing holds senior strategic and operational responsibility across the following areas:
- Full ownership of the UK and EU marketing strategy, aligned to divisional commercial objectives and growth targets.
- Overall accountability for UK and EU marketing budgets, including annual planning, phased allocation, performance tracking, and ROI reporting to the board.
- Senior leadership of the marketing function across both divisions, ensuring the right resources, priorities, and standards are in place to deliver against commercial objectives.
- Positioning Restec as the leading brand in its sectors across European markets through differentiated, commercially effective messaging.
- Driving measurable contribution to pipeline generation, lead quality, and revenue growth across both divisions.
- Ensuring brand consistency and strategic alignment between UK and EU operations
UK Marketing Leadership
- Provide strategic direction for all UK marketing activity, ensuring it operates in full alignment with the wider European brand positioning and commercial priorities.
- Set the standard for marketing quality and commercial focus across all UK activity, from campaigns and content to events and digital presence.
- Ensure UK campaigns, product launches, and trade activity are planned, resourced, and executed to deliver against clearly defined commercial objectives.
- Maintain brand consistency across all UK customer touchpoints, from digital to distributor collateral.
- Feed European market insight into UK brand decisions and ensure the two divisions operate as a single, coherent brand system adapted by market.
- Champion a culture of commercial accountability within the UK marketing function, ensuring activity is always connected to measurable outcomes.
Commercial Integration
- Ensure marketing strategy is fully aligned with UK and EU sales targets, sector priorities, and distributor performance plans.
- Work directly with UK and EU Sales leadership to support pipeline generation, measure conversion impact, and demonstrate marketing’s contribution to revenue.
- Develop brand positioning that actively improves lead quality, conversion rates, and repeat purchase behaviour.
- Build marketing into a genuine commercial growth driver, not simply a communications function.
- Establish clear metrics and dashboards that give senior leadership real-time visibility of marketing’s commercial impact.
- Work with commercial leadership to define target customer profiles, priority sectors, and conversion pathways, and ensure marketing investment is directed accordingly.
- Identify where marketing can unlock commercial opportunities that sales alone cannot access, including specification influence, brand preference, and long-cycle relationship development.
Market Intelligence & Competitor Positioning
- Continuously analyse European and UK competitors, positioning, messaging, pricing signals, and commercial activity.
- Identify gaps in brand positioning that can be exploited for commercial gain, including emerging categories, underserved segments, and specification opportunities.
- Track customer perception, distributor feedback, and market trends across both regions, and translate these into strategic insight.
- Commission or lead voice-of-customer research where required to inform positioning decisions.
- Translate intelligence into actionable strategic recommendations for the Restec Director and leadership team, presented with commercial clarity.
- Ensure Restec is always ahead of competitor moves rather than reactive to them.
Brand Messaging & Positioning
- Define clear, commercially focused brand messaging frameworks for use across UK and European markets.
- Ensure technical product capability is translated into simple, compelling commercial value that resonates with contractors, and distributors.
- Maintain brand narrative control across all markets, channels, and customer segments, setting the standard for consistency and quality.
- Ensure product, sector, and campaign messaging consistently reinforces Restec’s position as a premium brand.
- Build a messaging architecture that scales across territories while remaining locally relevant.
Cross-Functional Leadership & Senior Influence
- Act as the senior alignment point between brand, sales, technical, and distribution functions across both UK and EU divisions.
- ·Collaborate with the Group Head of Technical to ensure product credibility is translated into compelling market communications and specification support material.
- Work with Training and installer engagement teams to reinforce brand positioning through product knowledge and customer experience.
- Represent marketing at senior leadership level as a full contributor to commercial strategy, business planning, and growth investment decisions.
- Build strong working relationships with divisional MDs, Sales Directors, ensuring marketing is seen as a strategic partner rather than a support function.
Events, Partnerships & Market Presence
- Oversee Restec’s presence at European and UK exhibitions, trade shows, and industry events, ensuring participation is strategic and commercially purposeful.
- Develop strategic partnerships with industry bodies and channel partners that increase brand visibility and market penetration.
- Ensure brand consistency across all digital, print, and physical marketing assets across both divisions.
- Provide direction on distributor support materials, co-marketing programmes, and channel partner engagement activity.
Reporting & Board Accountability
- Report directly to the Restec Director, providing regular strategic updates on brand performance, budget position, market activity, and commercial contribution.
- Develop and own a marketing performance dashboard that provides clear, board-ready visibility of investment, activity, and return across both divisions.
- Present marketing strategy, budget plans, and performance reviews to senior leadership with confidence and commercial precision.
- Provide insight into marketing’s impact on pipeline, conversion, distributor performance, and brand equity over time.
- Contribute to regular business reviews with evidence-based analysis of marketing’s role in commercial performance.
- Ensure all marketing reporting connects activity to outcomes, with clear attribution and honest assessment of what is and is not working.
Essential Experience & Qualifications
- Significant senior marketing leadership experience at Head of Marketing, Marketing Director, or equivalent level within a commercially driven B2B organisation.
- Proven track record of owning and managing multi-market marketing budgets, with demonstrable ability to plan, allocate, track, and report on investment and return.
- Strong B2B marketing background, preferably within construction materials, building products, manufacturing, industrial sectors, or a closely related technical environment.
- Demonstrable experience of integrating marketing strategy with commercial sales objectives, revenue targets, and pipeline performance.
- Experience operating as a credible voice at senior leadership or board level, influencing strategy and investment decisions beyond the marketing function.
- A track record of building or transforming marketing functions into commercially respected, performance-driven operations.
- Experience across multi-territory European markets, with an understanding of the commercial and cultural differences that affect marketing effectiveness.
- Degree-level education in Marketing / Business.

Pay: £60,000.00-£65,000.00 per year
