As we continue to grow, we are expanding our Social Media team with an exciting new opportunity for a Social Media Apprentice (Community & Content) to join our creative and fast-paced team.

The Role

We are looking for a creative, curious and social-first individual to join our team and begin their career in social media and content marketing. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys creating content, keeping up with trends, engaging with online communities and learning how brands use social media to connect with their audiences.

Working closely with the Social Media Manager and Social Media Executive, you will gain hands-on experience supporting the day-to-day running of our social channels, helping to create engaging content, support campaigns, build online communities and contribute to our wider social media strategy.

You’ll learn how to manage brand channels, create platform-specific content, support influencer activity, analyse performance and use social insights to help shape future campaigns. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about social media, enjoys storytelling and wants to develop a career within content marketing and the travel industry.

Main Role Responsibilities

1. Community Engagement

Support the team in monitoring and responding to conversations across our social media channels
Help engage with guests and online communities in an authentic and positive way
Assist with responding to customer messages and comments, working alongside our customer contact team
Escalate customer service queries or reputation concerns to the appropriate teams
Help maintain Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines’ friendly and consistent tone of voice across all channels
Identify opportunities to join relevant conversations and support reactive social media activity

2. Social Content Publishing & Creator Support

Support the creation, scheduling and publishing of content across social media platforms
Assist with maintaining the social media content calendar
Support content approval processes and publishing workflows
Help create and edit social content, including photography, video and short-form content
Travel across our fleet may be required to support content creation opportunities
Assist with influencer and creator activity, including research, outreach and communications
Support campaign administration, including creator briefs, competitions, gifting and campaign tracking

3. User-Generated Content (UGC)

Help source and organise high-quality guest-generated content
Maintain UGC libraries and permission records
Identify guest stories and experiences that could be shared across our channels
Support the team in building a bank of content opportunities from our guests and community

4. Social Listening & Insights

Monitor social conversations, trends and competitor activity using social media tools
Keep up to date with emerging platforms, creators and cultural trends
Support the tracking of social media performance, including engagement, reach and audience growth
Help identify audience interests, sentiment and opportunities for future content
Assist with creating basic social media reports and sharing insights with the wider business

What We’re Looking For

Good written communication skills and attention to detail
A willingness to learn and develop new skills
Creativity and confidence in sharing ideas
An organised approach with the ability to manage multiple tasks
A positive, team-focused attitude

Previous experience managing personal social media accounts, creating content, photography, video editing, blogging or contributing to online communities would be beneficial although, full training and support will be provided.

The Opportunity

This is an Apprenticeship; the successful candidate will work towards the Level 3 Content Creator qualification which has an estimated course duration of 18 months. This will be a work-based Apprenticeship, therefore there will be no requirement for a day release to college. You will have an allocated Assessor from an Apprenticeship training provider who will visit you in the workplace and provide 1-2-1 training, support, and guidance throughout the course. You'll have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with an award-winning cruise and travel brand. With structured learning and support throughout your apprenticeship, you'll develop practical skills in social media, content creation, community management and digital marketing, helping you build a strong foundation for your future career.

Some travel, including opportunities to visit our fleet, will be involved as part of the role.

The successful candidate must have a full UK driving license and access to their own transport.
