Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Bookkeeper to join our office team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable, and ensuring the smooth operation of our accounting processes. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in accounting software and a keen eye for detail to contribute to our organisation’s financial health.

Duties

Manage and maintain accurate financial records using recognised accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero
Process and monitor accounts payable and receivable transactions
Reconcile bank statements and ensure all financial data is accurate and up-to-date
Assist with payroll processing and employee expense claims
Prepare financial reports and assist with budgeting activities
Support audit preparations by organising relevant documentation
Liaise with external accountants and auditors as required
Maintain organised filing systems for all financial documents

Requirements

Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role within an organisational setting
Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero
Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
Experience with accounts payable management is essential
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in data entry and record keeping
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Relevant qualifications in accounting or finance are desirable but not essential
